Pedigree Traditional Hereford Cattle

Our cattle roam freely, we do not intensely farm, they do not require antibiotics nor are they de-horned, we leave our cattle to grow naturally and in a natural environment.

Our calves are left on their mothers for up to 8 months, growing rapidly on their mother milk.

The cattle graze from our old ley meadows lavished with mixed grasses, wildflowers and herbs gives these docile cattle the nourishment and vital minerals they require, naturally, applying a natural fertiliser concentrated of pressed seaweed sustainably harvested from UK waters, blended with humic substances, this fertiliser ‘stimulates’ internal responses to enable better utilisation of nutrients, improving the plants stress tolerance and defence responses to both fungi and insect Infestation, this fertiliser unlike chemical fertilisers can be applied in wet conditions with no leaching into water courses.

The grass is packed with trace elements and minerals both in grazing & forage resulting in healthier faster growing stock, grass fed beef is rich in Vitamin A and E, which help strengthen the immune system and maintain healthy skin and eyes. Vitamin E is actually four times higher in grass-fed meat than grain fed.

Traditional Herefords have a natural thickness and an unmatched ability to convert grass to quality meat, they are a docility, breed and bred for their foraging ability since the 17th century, their characteristics make them ideal for suckler beef with producers able to reduce inputs and create a highly desirable end product, whether selling as youngstock or finished beef.

Pound for pound, it has less total fat, and therefore less calories and the nutritional content of that fat is also different, it also has twice as many omega-3 fatty acids as regular beef.

Our Pedigree Traditional Herefords are tested for BVD, Johnes, Lepton, IBR and Neospora, and vaccinating for BVD, this isn't a new fad for us, this is something we are passionate about and having being practicing for well over a decade, this gives us accreditation after our annual testing.
